A Good Harvest

Many weddings are now held in winery venues and a recent cake we did followed that theme with fresh grapes and grape leaves used as the decoration - we think the result is fresh and fit well with the wine barrel cake stand and location for the wedding.

Everything's Peachy!

"Thank you so very much for your amazingly delicious cupcake wedding cake you made us. Wow it was brilliant and all our guests raved about it.
You made our day that so much more special.
We still can't believe how amazing it was.
We can't thank you enough! It was worth every dollar spent".

Thanks again
Bryan and oriel pulley

An April wedding with a peach colour theme and 94 white chocolate wrapped individual cakes (with top cutting cake) displayed on crystal drop tiered cake stand.

Each tier of the stand had a different flavoured mini cake; lemon syrup, chocolate mud cake & white chocolate and raspberry.  Extra cakes that don't fit on the stand can come out later so each guest has their own mini-cake.

The great thing about the tiered stand is that it provides a real presence in the wedding venue because of its height - so a real focal point in the room.

As always the finishing touches are linking the colour theme of the wedding with the cake - in this instance gorgeous peach flowers and peach coloured ribbon set the scene.

Real flowers have a beauty that cannot be surpassed.

The bride chose to provide each guest with a small bag to take home their individual cake as a wedding favour - a great option if desert is already included in the wedding feast.

Christmas

Last year was the first christmas for Marron & Dolce and we produced a range of edible gifts ready packaged.

A lovely gift box of kitchen garden goodies was beautiful and popular.

Traditional european christmas cookies were also a nice treat for gifts or the christmas table.

We had fun ensuring a christmas feel to the farmers market stall to ensure everyone's shopping was a pleasure during the crazy build up to christmas.

We will produce a broader range of beautifully packaged gifts for christmas 2013 - including the popular quince jelly (great with roast pork and turkey), our famous tamarillo chutney - watch this space.

A Summer Savoury Option

A summer savoury item we are now selling at the Parnell Farmers Market is a range of savoury quiche. As with all our products, the quiche is made using free range eggs, Clinton's hand-made pastry and quality ingredients including herbs from our garden.

Current flavours include a traditional quiche lorraine (pictured above) with free range bacon, onions, fresh thyme and cheese, smoked salmon & feta with dill or sage and vegetarian with mixed seasonal vegetables, feta and marjoram from the garden.

Fondant flowers

Fondant and royal icing wedding cakes still remain a favourite.  Current styles tend to be simpler and have a clean look with feature flowers.  This cake uses a simple one colour fondant rose that links with the bridal colours to create a contemporary wedding cake.

Fresh Fruit Danish

Due to demand from our customers, Clinton is now producing a range of boutique danish pastries for the Saturday morning Parnell Farmers Market.

The point of difference with Marron & Dolce danish is our use of real ingredients and hand-made pastry.  We only use real butter - and that is what makes all the difference to a real crispy flaky danish.  We like to use interesting and seasonal fruits on the fresh fruit danish, so far flavours have included rhubard & elderberry, damson & apple, pear, strawberry, plum (a favourite with our customers), peach, traditional apricot, feijoa & apple, cinnamon spiced apple and quince.

Whenever possible we use the fruit from our own orchard - this seasons plums and peaches and damsons have been a favourite.

Pain au chocolate (with Clintons hand-made 70% chocolate stick insertions) and almond danish are on the menu also.

New Marquee

We've now got a custom-designed marquee at the Parnell Farmers Market.  We have included images of our products on the marquee to ensure everyone knows what we are selling at the market.  This may seem odd but we have found that because we keep all our products in perspex covered boxes for health reasons people often didn't realise what we were selling.  Hopefully the crisp new marquee will draw in even more customers - keep an eye out for us and call in!
